John Kelly Family
Johann Jacob K”lle (wheelwright), born 24 April 1711, was the son of Johann George K”lle (Wheelwright), and Waldburga Schmidin. He married, 24 January 1741, Anna Catharina Sigler, born 15 October 1713, daughter of Johannes Sigler (Butcher) and wife, Anna Barbara. Both families were of the town of Blaubeuren, Territory of Ulm, Germany.
The family of John Jacob Kelly came to S.C. in 1752 on the Ship John and Mary. As John Khele he was awarded a 400 acre bounty grant on Buffalo Creek near the Saluda River.
John Jacob Kelly had a younger brother, John Kelly, born 3 January 1718, died 6 November 1766, who also came over on the John and Mary.
