He (Ashwell Batten) was a landowner of York Co. He arrived in Virginia with his fourth wife and five servants. His fourth wife was Anne who survived him. I looked him up on a stay in Virginia as I was curious. He's not my line so I didn't pursue it. His first wife was the mother of Elizabeth born about 1642. This daughter was Mrs. Elizabeth Paulin in 1712. His second wife was Constant who was the mother of Constant who married John Davis according to Ashwell's will of 1666, and Sarah who married John Hall. His third wife was Ursula who had John who married Mary Baskervylle. Ursula was shot by accident, and then he married Anne.
